The Foreign Service is responsible for Swedens relations with other countries. The task of the Foreign Service is to contribute to realising the Governments overall foreign policy objectives. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is also responsible for coordinating Swedish foreign policy at the Government Offices.
The second Annual General Meeting of the Association for Security Sector Education and Training (ASSET) took place from 2-3 March 2010 in Manila, the Philippines. As Chair of the ASSET Coordinating Committee and host to the ASSET Secretariat, ISSAT attended the AGM and also assisted the host of the 2010 AGM- the Institute for Strategic and Development Studies (ISDS) – in preparations for the meeting.

As part of its efforts to increase the capacity of SSR training providers and in a bid to harmonise SSR training, DCAF/ ISSAT continues to play a lead role in ASSET.
Established in 2007, ASSET is an open and voluntary association of organisations engaged in SSR education and training. ASSET aims to support its members in the design and delivery of SSR training programmes and teaching materials. The second ASSET AGM served to consolidate operational procedures of the Association and to determine key activities for the coming year.
The third Annual General Meeting of the Association for Security Sector Education and Training (ASSET) took place from 7 - 9 March 2010 in Antigua, Guatemala. As Chair of the ASSET Coordinating Committee and host to the ASSET Secretariat, DCAF/ ISSAT attended the AGM and also assist the host of the 2011 AGM– Instituto de Ensenanza para el Desarrollo Sostenible (IEPADES) – in preparations for the meeting.
Overall objectives of the meeting included:
Working as police officer since 1975.
Have been in missions in Africa (Angola and Sierra Leone), Asia (Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand and Afghanistan) Europe ( Kosovo and Macedonia).
Ongoing mission in Afghanistan.
