The Project Assistant will assist the Project Officer responsible for promoting outreach and implementation of the Montreux Document on pertinent international obligations and good practices related to private military and security companies in situations of armed conflict
. More specifically, the Project Assistant will play an active role in a project supporting the OSCE as well as in supporting the organisation of a Montreux Document Forum Regional Meeting in February 2018.
The weekly working time is 21 hours. The contract is for 2 months with possibility of extension upon confirmation of additional funding.

Website Management Intern
DCAF-ISSAT is offering an internship opportunity focusing on website management, user-experience, multimedia design and production, and editorial content writing in the areas of Security Sector Reform (SSR), governance, security policy and international development.
You will support a large Community of Practice (CoP) where subject-expert users exchange information and access a wide variety of information resources, including e-learnings, project and training details, and a large resource library: http://issat.dcaf.ch
The role involves contributing to the website product management utilizing the Content Management System (eZ Publish), as well as carrying out user-experience research, keeping track of issues and managing Google and Campaign Monitor analytics. Furthermore, the intern will support the Designer and Website Manager in producing assets for the website, and with creating print, digital and video products with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (focusing on Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro).
This would suit a Graduate or Master’s candidate looking to gain experience in website management and multimedia design and production in international organization setting, developing a range of technical, creative, management and editorial skills. These competences will set you in good stead for a career in marketing, project management, design and media production in the context of international development.

The DCAF-ISSAT training intern will form part of the International Security Sector Advisory Team (ISSAT) that consists of 23 staff drawn from a variety of specialisations to support strategic, successful and sustainable Security Sector Reform (SSR) interventions in post-conflict and transitional countries. DCAF’s Policy and Research Division is looking for an experienced, motivated and flexible individual to serve as Research Fellow on SSR and Peace Processes (50%). The Research Fellow on SSR and Peace Processes will be part of a professional team in Geneva and report to the Project Lead within the Policy and Research Division. She/He will support the Project Lead in implementing the research project, "SSR in Peace Processes: Lessons from the Practice of Mediation" as part of the Division’s applied policy research function. This research project seeks to learn from the collective insights of experienced mediators how better to address SSR and related transitional security challenges during mediation processes.
