World Bank Hive

icon

The Hive launched its beta platform splash site  in January 2012, with its full launch due in Fall 2012. You can join now to take part in site testing.

The Hive is a knowledge platform on fragility, conflict, and violence, which provides both an online and face-to-face communication platform for the community of practice working on these issues to share and build knowledge. The Hive aims to achieve the following three objectives:

  1. creating a worldwide community of practice on fragility, conflict and violence
  2. sharing knowledge across contexts and disciplines to bridge divides and reduce isolation; and
  3. connecting new knowledge and innovative approaches that can inform best fit solutions.

The Hive was created by ten core partner institutions, and, since then, the number of partners has grown. Currently, the Hive has over 25 partner institutions across the globe, including African Development Bank (AfDB), International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), International Network on Conflict and Fragility (INCAF), London School of Economics,Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, International Center for the Prevention of Crime, Institute for Security Studies (South Africa), European Forum for Urban Security, World Bank.
