Slide 2 of 26

About the Simulation

The simulation developed by the United States Institute for Peace (USIP) included under this section incorporates all lessons learnt across this course and enables you to apply your acquired knowledge to a hypothetical scenario. In this scenario you will act as a newly appointed advisor to a local minister.

You will be confronted with a specific situation and accompanying challenges and will be presented with various responses. As you choose the correct response, you will follow the thread of a developing storyline and be beset by other challenges which you will have to address. Whichever option or choice you take, an explanation will always be included which will elaborate further on the choice you have made. In this sense, you will have the opportunity to review and reflect upon all the information available throughout the course.

The simulation will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete (depending on computer processing speed, internet connection, participant involvement etc.).

Note however, that this simulation is and does not form part of your final grade. Nevertheless, it is highly encouraged to go through the simulation and put your knowledge to the test in a fun and interactive fashion!
