Conflict-Sensitive Approaches to Development, Humanitarian Assistance and Peacebuilding: A Resource Pack is the product of a two-year process by a consortium of partner organisations. The goal was to identify, synthesise, complement and enable conflict-sensitive practice in the fields of development, humanitarian assistance and peacebuilding. This was undertaken primarily in Kenya, Uganda and Sri Lanka but also at the global policy level. The focus of the initiative was donors, governments, INGOs and local civil society organisations.
This Resource Pack documents current practice, available frameworks and lessons learned. At its heart is the concept of conflict sensitivity - the notion of systematically taking into account both the positive and negative impact of interventions, in terms of conflict or peace dynamics, on the contexts in which they are undertaken, and, conversely, the impact of these contexts on the interventions.
