DCAF – Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance is dedicated to improving the security of states and their people within a framework of democratic governance, the rule of law, and respect for human rights. DCAF contributes to making peace and development more sustainable by assisting partner states and international actors supporting these states, to improve the governance of their security sector through inclusive and participatory reforms.
For our office in Mali, we are looking for a seasoned and dynamic manager to be our next:
Head of Office, Project Coordinator, Mali (100 %)
Location: Bamako, Mali
Starting date: ASAP or upon mutual agreement
Duration: 24 month fixed-term contract, with possibility of extension
Reporting to the Head of the Sub-Saharan Africa Division, the Head of Office represents DCAF in Mali. S/he ensures that the presence and operations of DCAF are in accordance with the national legislation of the country and with the internal rules and procedures of DCAF. S/he coordinates and relies on a national and international team based in and outside the country of operation and ensures the development and management of DCAF activities. S/he is responsible for updating a national programmatic strategy, and contributes to other DCAF strategic frameworks in Sub-Saharan Africa and globally. S/he ensures the security of DCAF property and personnel in Mali.
The Head of Office works in close collaboration, and on a daily basis, with the Mali project team based in Geneva (Project Coordinator and Project Officer).
