Antoine Hanin is an Security Sector Reform Advisor at ISSAT.
Antoine's direct area of expertise is on assessment, design, monitoring and evaluation of SSR/Governance projects, programmes and policies. He delivers operational and strategic advice to reinforce security and justice programming for bilateral and multilateral donors worldwide. Antoine is currently supporting the implementation of the EU SSG Facility, based in Brussels. He provides tailor made support to EU Delegations and partner countries’ security and justice actors. In addition, Antoine advises EU Member States, the EEAS HQ and CSDP missions on SSR/G, provides analysis, recommendations and methodological support to enhance the effectiveness of the EU support to partner countries. He has extensive experience in Central and West Africa (Burundi, Rwanda, DRC, Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso), Albania, Georgia and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining ISSAT, Antoine worked for a strategy private consulting company. He was an evaluation expert on strategic level evaluations of development aid policies. He carried out several large scale evaluations for the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, the UN and the World Bank.
Antoine holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Conflict Management from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. He is fluent in French and English and has good knowledge of Spanish and Dutch.
