The BMW Foundation aims to facilitate global dialogue and to drive social innovation. To this end, they bring together people from across cultures, countries and communities around selected key areas.

The DEU UN Trg Centre is a multinational, interagency training facility for pre-deployment training with a special focus on action and response training. Soldiers of the German Armed Forces, of allies and partners, civilian Bundeswehr personnel, police forces, journalists and civilian GO/NGO/IO personnel are trained at the Centre for all mission areas around the world.

The Centre closely cooperates with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the Foreign Office. Some courses are certified by the United Nations (UN) and authorised by NATO. The Centre is a contractor of the European Union (EU) and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Several Governmental and Non-Governmental Organisations (GOs/NGOs) send their personnel to the Centre to attend pre-deployment training courses.
