Online course - “Introduction to the fundamentals of justice support”

UN DPKO’s Criminal Law and Judiciary Advice Service (CLJAS) is keen to develop an online course on the provision of Justice Support in post-conflict and fragile environments. Currently, CLJAS conducts several face-to-face trainings on the subject. It is hoped that the online course will be a cost-effective manner to reach out to a broader audience, while also promoting a common understanding on UN Justice Support.

Online course on an Introduction to the Fundamentals of Justice Support, including relevant pedagogical resources such as videos/ audios, case studies/ examples, assessments etc.  

Outcome objectives of mandate

Overall objectives of the proposed project include:

  • Establishing a common understanding on UN approaches, principles and practices relative to Justice Support;
  • Ensuring that all UN personnel engaged in justice sector reform have access to basic thematic training on justice reform.

Specific objectives of the proposed online course include:

  • Understanding the UN DPKO Justice and Corrections approach;
  • Explore the contribution/role of justice and corrections in broader peacekeeping, security, stability and peace efforts;
  • Learn about emerging JCS best practice and lessons identified from the field.
