Methodological support to OSCE in conducting Security Needs Assessment

OSCE mandate in Bosnia and Herzegovina 01.10.2020. - 31.01.2021.

ISSAT will provide methodological support to OSCE as defined in the TOR for the Security Needs Assessment. This will include:

  • ISSAT preparation of materials for and facilitation of Methodology workshops; these will equip the OSCE’s three teams of consultants to conduct the assessment in their three respective core areas.*
  • ISSAT review and feedback on products of the three teams, comprising (1) assessment plans, and (2) findings and recommendations.
  • If OSCE resource allows, ISSAT preparation of materials for and facilitation of Validation workshops.

* (1) Integrated border management, (2) Anti-corruption, and (3) Public Security/Police.

Workshop "SSR - from Theory to Practice"

Austria mandate in Armenia, OSCE 09.11.2015. - 13.11.2015.

Project started in 2012 with a first activity in June 2013 (“Introduction to SSR - Level 1 training & High level SSR sensitisation”) ARM-AUT-OSCE supported by ISSAT (2 instructors: Petra van Ojien/Sami Faltas)

2015: two activities to be implemented:

  • expert talks on specific aspects within Defence Sector Reform (took place in May 2015);
  • workshop on SSR with special focus on inter-agency cooperation (planned in November 2015).
