Statement by the President of the Security Council

At the 6630th meeting of the Security Council, held on 12 October 2011, in connection with the Council’s consideration of the item entitled “Maintenance of international peace and security”, the President of the Security Council released a statement on behalf of the Council in regards to SSR.

Report of the Secretary-General on the Situation in Burundi

UN Security Council Resolution 2467 (2019). Women and peace and security: Sexual violence in conflict

Adopted by the Security Council at its 8514th meeting, on 23 April 2019. 

The Security Council called upon warring parties around the globe to implement concrete commitments to fight what many speakers described as the heinous, barbaric and all-too-often silent phenomenon of sexual violence during conflict. Adopting resolution 2467 (2019), the Council reiterated its demand for the complete cessation of all acts of sexual violence by all parties to armed conflict.
