ISSAT is invited to provide a team of 2 members to be part of three specific sessions
- a panel discussion on JSSR actors;
- a delivery of a SSR exercise in a EU context.
The main objective of the workshop is to deliver an overview of the key SSR policies, principles and actors and how to adapt them within an EU mission’s context.
A part of the session will be devoted to a current case study underlining the concrete difficulties to implement the mentioned principles in the field.

- To develop basic JSSR knowledge of the audience essentially composed of civilian and military personnel coming from diverse EU member states, EU institutions/ agencies in Brussels;
- To insist upon the Whole-of-Government approach and the strong links between security and the rule of law.
Outcome objectives of mandate
The IHEDN (Institut des Hautes Etudes de la Défense Nationale) - the French interdepartmental training center on security, defense, political and strategical issues - is organising a sensitization/training cycle on JSSR between 27 – 29 October 2015, in Brussels, within the framework of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC).
The training, intended for representatives of European Member states, will be focussed on the EU’s JSSR approach. The educational approach will be both theoretical and practical, based on cases studies and lessons learned.
