The Swiss Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport has requested DCAF/ISSAT to provide support to the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) in Sarajevo in the design and delivery of an introductory course “Security Sector Reform (SSR) in Peace Support Operations (PSO) Orientation Course“
This support falls within pahse 3 of the Swiss government’s four-phased capacity development plan for PSOTC, aimed at enabling PSOTC design and deliver its own SSR trainings. Phase 1 included the delivery of Level 1, Level 2 and Train-the-Trainer trainings to PSOTC. During phase 2 of the project, PSOTC trainers were integrated into DCAF/ ISSAT training teams. As part of Phase 3 of the project, DCAF/ ISSAT will continue to advise and mentor PSOTC facilitators in the design and delivery of SSR trainings. Phase 4 foresees the independent running of SSR trainings by PSOTC.
